Steven Ray McKinney

April 12, 1982 — December 26, 2018

Steven McKinney, 36, of Marble Falls, Texas, was born in Midland, Texas, on April 12, 1982. Steven’s very loving parents are Doyle McKinney of Midland and Beverly McKinney of Marble Falls. He was preceded in death by his Papa Harvey Hector, Grandma Joy Parker, Grandma Stella McKinney, brother Harvey McKinney, best friend Laban Robokoff, Uncle Donnie McKinney, and Aunt Rita Kay Higginbottom.

He was a very proud and loving uncle to his beloved nephews Haygun and Hoss McKinney, and he was an awesome nephew and best friend to his Aunt Brenda. Steven is loved dearly by his Aunt Gerald Dean, many cousins of which some he was very dear friends with. Steven also had many other very special friends and relatives.

Steven enjoyed many types of music, but mostly Celtic, writing poetry, drawing and other various creative arts. He was a true artisan and woods craftsman and has done many beautiful projects. Steven had the agility and strength of a ninja, mind & body. He had great respect for nature and loved being among trees, plants, water, and animals.

He frequented Johnson City Park in Marble Falls and visited there often to feed the ducks and inhale the serenity of his surroundings. Wise in many topics he felt all should excel their minds, especially children. Often times, Steven had many listening ears as he shared his wisdom. Steven had a beautiful mind and sincere soul; you could see that in his eyes and feel it in his hugs and the intense way in which he listened and spoke.

Family and friends will celebrate the precious gift Steven was in their lives as they gather at Johnson City Park in Marble Falls, Texas on Saturday, Jan. 12, at noon, near the amphitheater in honor of the blessing he was to each of them. Join us and bring a quilt or lawn chair and picnic lunch.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the City of Marble Falls Park and Recreation Department, 1808 2nd Street, Marble Falls, Texas 78654, in memory of Steven McKinney, for their Tree Planting Project, which will be held on April 5.
