Barbara Anne Hershman, 77, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away on Feb. 9, 2019. She was born to Boyd E. and Audry (West) Hershman on Dec. 25, 1941 in Savannah, Georgia.

Barbara loved sewing and quilting. She collected recipes and cooked many that she collected. Barbara spent many years stocking shelves at Dollar General and enjoyed that very much. But her pride and joy was her swimming pool. She had taught herself more about pool maintenance than most people realize exist. She prided herself in having the best pool in the neighborhood and it was always perfectly maintained. She also enjoyed swimming in her pool but loved swimming off the coast on the Gulf of Mexico. She also took care of her faithful friend who is a bearded dragon named Ringo.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Williams-Ward and husband Douglas of Canyon Lake, Texas; Jeannia Hastey of Kingsland, Texas; Caroline Black of Kingsland, Texas; grandchildren, Barbara, Elton, Michael, Jr. Joseph, James Michael, Steven “Winn”, Jennifer, Thomas, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Bikram, Devjot, and Calee Smith, Jason Hawkins, Laine, Jacob, Riley and Rowdy. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lola Jean Hershman Rogers; and brother, Benny Hershman.

A family and friends gathering to honor the life of Barbara is planned for 3:00 p.m. on Feb. 22, 2019 at 725 Wood Forest Road, Kingsland, Texas. An online register can be found at PutnamCares.com.
