Bobby Gene Norred

January 16, 1935 — February 15, 2019

Bobby Gene Norred passed away Friday morning, Feb. 15, 2019 at his home at the age of 84 years and 30 days. Bobby was born Jan. 16, 1935, the same day as his wife, to Iona and Nolon Norred.

Bobby attended Dime Box school in Dime Box, Texas. He started working at the age of sixteen with his father in the road construction business. Bobby was baptized and confirmed into faith in 1954 with his first-born daughter, Lashelle, by Pastor Horn at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dime Box.

Bobby Norred and Dot Dube were united in marriage on June 11, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran in Dime Box, Texas. Bobby and Dot moved to Kingsland, Texas, in 1959 where he continued to work in the construction business. In the 1970s Bobby worked in Lakeway building golf courses and later worked for himself in the Kingsland area. Bobby loves everything outdoors, hunting deer, hunting elk in Colorado, building guns, fishing, riding dirt bikes, and playing golf.

He is preceded in death by his mother and dad, Iona and Nolon Norred; his in-laws, Walter and Helen Dube; brother in-laws, Jack Dube, Alvin Mikulin, and Pete Nimtz; sister in law, Jo Nimtz; and one nephew, Jim Bob Dube.

He is survived by his wife, Dot Norred; daughters, Lashelle Maass and husband Ray, Denise Frasier and husband Stacy, and Penny Smith; sister, Nolene Norred; grandchildren, RaeLynn and Marc Beck, Brooke and Bronson Myers, Luke and Christie Atkison, Ashley and Casey Melton, and Stan and Carrie Frasier; great-grandchildren, Landon Lewis, Lincoln Myers, Crockett Myers, Mason Beck, Carson Beck, Wyatt Atkison, Gage Atkison, Callan Melton, and Riley Frasier; sister-in-laws, Becky Maass and husband Clyde, and Peggy Dube; brother-in-law Bobby Dube and wife Bonnie.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Mikulin, Justin Maass, Bronson Myers, Luke Atkison, Landon Lewis, Stan Frasier, and Casey Melton.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or EMS of Granite Shoals.

Visitation will be 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland, Texas. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Marble Falls with Pastor Harold Vanicek officiating. Interment to follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet. An online guest registry may be signed at PutnamCares.com.

Bobby’s care entrusted to Putnam Funeral Home and Crematory, 145 Texas Avenue, Kingsland.
