David S. Nelson
d. February 12, 2019
David S. Nelson, 57, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, in Canyon Lake. David was born in Salem, Massachusetts, a son of Harold G. and Nancy Jane (Wilson) Nelson. He would want us to know that this wasn’t his choice and he got to Texas as fast as he could by the age of 2. According to him he crawled the entire way and carried his siblings on his back. He was preceded in death by Mrs. Rabel of Taylor, who was a close friend and role model to him. He was a graduate of Taylor High School in 1981 and served for 14 years in the United States Air Force. He began work for PEC as a line staking agent while also going back to school in the evenings. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University and was the Electrical Distribution Planning and Design Manager at PEC’s Canyon Lake office. David cared deeply about people and spent much of his spare time serving others. He was a master craftsman, and every dog's best friend. We will miss his love and sense of humor; the world has lost one of its truly good souls.
David is survived by his wife and friend of many years, Judy; son, Nathan Louviere and wife Mela, and a new grandson, August, of Pflugerville; and son, Robin Stiles of Marble Falls; siblings, Mike Nelson and wife Carol of Conroe, Guy Nelson and wife Ruth Ann of Oatmeal, Melanie Heine and her husband David of Thrall; many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly (even though he was “Mean Uncle David”); and many co-workers who also were among his closest friends. Eric Schoppe and family were one of the many that David poured his heart and help out upon, with Eric being like a son to him.
A remembrance (non religious at his request) was held at the Marble Falls Church of Christ on US Highway 281 Sunday, Feb. 24. Contributions in David’s name can be made to the charity of your choice.
