Baylor Scott & White, Hill Country Memorial hospitals score high

Baylor Scott & White Marble Falls was awarded five stars in a recent Medicare online rating system.

Two hospitals with connections to Burnet and Llano counties are among the 24 hospitals statewide to have earned the highest quality of care rating possible from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
Baylor Scott & White Hospital Marble Falls earned five stars as did Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg, which has doctors' offices and a surgical center in Marble Falls.
Both hospitals were recognized with high marks for performance in providing timely and effective care, keeping complications and deaths low, reducing unplanned hospital visits, use of medical imaging, as well as payment and value of care.
Ratings reflect such factors as how often patients get infections after surgery, how long patients must wait in the emergency department before seeing a doctor or nurse, and how likely patients are to get readmitted to the hospital following a heart attack. . .
