Lydia Frances Giddens Lohman

March 12, 1942 — March 9, 2019

Lydia Frances was born March 12, 1942, in Burnet, Texas, to Henry Maurice Giddens and Mary Ellen (Hahn) Giddens and passed away on March 9, 2019.

She grew up on the family farm in Leander, Texas, graduated from Leander ISD in 1960, and the University of Texas-Austin in 1966.

She married Thomas G. Lohman on August 31, 1963, and they have two children: Steve and Sheri. She is survived by her son, Steve of Red Oak; daughter, Sheri Lohman Bonner and her husband Jay of Red Oak; twin granddaughters, Ashley Bonner MacDonald and husband Michael, and Amanda Bonner of Red Oak; grandson, Justin Bonner of Red Oak; brothers Freddie Giddens of Sidney, Montana, and Bill Giddens of Lake Victor; sister Wynetta Johnson of Rosebud, Texas; six nieces and their respective family and many cousins and friends. She is also survived by Thomas’ sister, Joyce Moos and Marvin of Austin; and special dear friends, Anna Blekher of Richardson and Doris Simpson Morris of Austin.

She was predeceased by husband, Thomas; parents Maurice and Mary Ellen; brother Freddy’s wife, Judy; and all aunt and uncles.

She had a wonderful life, and touched a lot of people along the way, always with a smile on her face. She tried to think of others before herself and loved to give her time and resources to those in need. In keeping with her generous nature and always trying to help others, she has donated her body to UT Southwestern Medical School for research purposes and training doctors.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Driggers and Decker Funeral Home in Red Oak.
