Robert Earl Millican

January 2, 1948 — April 24, 2019

On Tuesday, April 24, 2019, Robert Earl Millican, our beloved father, passed away at the age of 71. Robert was born on Jan. 2, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Luther and Esther Millican. He spent his childhood days living between Houston and Fort Worth, attending Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth. In 1966, Robert married Linda Edgington (deceased) and had four children, Robert Jr., Roger, Tracie and Charlotte. Robert married three additional times. Each marriage created lasting relationships between Robert and his step-children that lasted until his passing.

Robert spent his life as a truck driver, driving both over the road and locally. He was just as well known by his CB handle “Rabbit” as he was by his given name. Throughout his life, Robert’s outgoing personality allowed people to gravitate to him. His sense of humor and genuineness stand out as his greatest character traits. He loved being around people and spending time with his family.

During the many family reunions, Robert handled most of the cooking and enjoyed talking about the Millican family. He grew up spending a lot of his time with his numerous cousins, uncles, his beloved sister Pat and brother Roger “Rocky”. The bond he shared with his sister and brother were as close as siblings can be. His sister Pat became his caretaker over the last few years and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for him.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Luke; his mother, Esther; his niece, Deborah; and his former wife, Janice. He is survived by his four children, Robert Jr., Roger “Rocky”, Tracie and Charlotte; his sister, Pat; his brother, Roger; nine grandchildren, Joseph, Brandon, Aaron, Robert III, Ethan, Ryan, Derrick, Dalton and Whytne; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 4 at Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland, Texas at 2:00 p.m. A family burial will take place at the Bluffton Cemetery. An online guest book may be signed at PutnamCares.com.

Robert’s care entrusted to Putnam Funeral Home and Crematory, 145 Texas Avenue, Kingsland, Texas 78639. (325) 388-0008.
