Marble Falls girls soccer star Jessica De La Hoya committed last week to playing soccer at the next level for Concordia University in Austin.
De La Hoya was the clear leader of the Lady Mustangs squad, and she led by example. She worked as a true utility player filling minutes at forward, midfielder and even goalkeeper throughout the 2019 season.
Jessica registered 43 goals and 21 assists on offense and 18 saves as a goalkeeper in two seasons.
“If we didn't have to [put her at goalkeeper], she probably would have broke 50 goals, which is impressive,” Mustangs head coach Cory Maxwell said. “She's extremely talented and can play any position on the field.”
Jessica will not play every position on the field for the Tornados, however; she signed with Concordia to play forward.
Proximity to family and Tornados head coach Andy Tunnicliffe's expectations were the deciding factors for Jessica. . . .
