Fredrick A. Mortenson

January 6, 1969 – May 26, 2019

Frederick A. Mortenson, 50, was the cherished and beloved son of Dorothea Watrous of Marble Falls; loving brother and best friends to Mark A. Mortenson of Granite Shoals and treasured sister Dana Lou Fultz of Rolond, Oklahoma. Frederick is also survived by brother, Edward D. Mortenson; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was born in Nuremburg, Germany on Jan. 6, 1969 and returned to the loving arms of the Lord on Sunday, May 26, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee.

We lost Fred as a result of complications from a heart condition he had battled with courage and quiet dignity for most of his adult life.

Fred answered the call of his Lord and Savior and went home to spend eternity with Him; his grandparents, Fred and Juanita Watrous; his faher, Mark Mortenson Senior; a beloved niece, Emma Dawn; and other friends and family members who welcomed him.

Fred lived in the Buchanan Dam and Marble Falls area for most of his life. A graduate of Burnet High School, he was active in the US Army from 1987 - 1996 and was proud to be a Disabled American Veteran. He was a Civil Engineer, previously employed by Willis Engineering of Marble Falls.

Fred was a wonderful man with a very generous and giving heart. He loved and was loved by all that knew him and he touched the lives of many. He will be truly missed by all.

Friends and family, please come join in a celebration of Fred’s beautiful life on June 22 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Veterans Park located in Granite Shoals, Texas, rain or shine. Any photos of Fred will be appreciated because all family photos were lost in the 2018 flood.
