Los Escondidos fights city of Marble Falls annexation

Landowners who live on Los Escondidos Street stood toe-to-toe Oct. 15 with Marble Falls City Council members to push back on impending plans to annex the neighborhood, which is primarily a strip of land bordering Lake Marble Falls.
Council members put the item on the agenda for discussion to get insight from the residents about the potential for an “intent to annex” as many as 38 properties on the street. Of those landowners 38 of them signed a so-called “development agreement” five years ago to delay the potential annexation process by the city.
City officials argued that annexation was the continuation of past council plans to make good on debt the city took on when the city acquired from the Lower Colorado River Authority the Los Escondidos water system and paid for improvements as well as street upgrades which ends in a cul-de-sac adjacent to CR 415. . . .
