Eddy (Spoons) Laxson Sr.

Eddy (Spoons) Laxson Sr., age 64, of Buchanan Dam, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020.

The memorial service and gathering will be held at the Cross and Spurs Cowboy Church in Buchanan Dam from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18 followed by dinner. Pastor Johnny Sawyer of the Cowboy Church will be officiating.

Eddy was born in Santa Rosa, California on June 8, 1955. At age 11 he joined the carnival and later the circus. Eddy proudly served his country in the US Army for 10 years. Eddy worked for a propane company for 18 years and volunteered at the Buchanan Dam fire department for 15 years. He enjoyed playing spoons, singing, macrame, arts and crafts, woodwork, and taking care of his family and friends.

Eddy is survived by his wife, Helen Elizabeth Laxson; his children, Michael C. Laxson, Richard and Kalynda Pickering, Heidi Monika Laxson, Brandey Dashay Roberts, Jayson Clough, Kimberley Michelle Roberts and Shawn Dale Roberts; brothers, Benjamin Laxson, Earl Laxson, and Thomas Laxson; sister, Theresa Laxson; niece, Haidee Iversen; as well as his 18 grandchildren.

Eddy was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. Laxson and Violet Glennette Dingwall; sister, Florence Jean Laxson (Iversen); and Robert Roy Iversen (brother-in-law).
