Counties join forces to explore broadband expansion

Recognizing a need exists for affordable and reliable high-speed broadband internet, officials from Burnet, Llano and Blanco counties came together Friday, Jan. 31, to launch a cooperative plan of action to connect their underserved communities.
The counties will be working with non-profit Connected Nation Texas to survey households, businesses, community organizations and other parties to find out where internet service gaps exist within the region. That information will then be used with service providers to improve infrastructure and expand service. …
