The early voting report from the Burnet County Elections Office, just in did not look promising for supporters of the $3 million for road improvements in Granite Shoals.

Of 152 early voters, it was 47.71 percent to reaffirm the bonds and 53.29 percent against.

In Horseshoe Bay, all 12 who voted for Proposition 1(reauthorization of a local sales and use tax at the rate of one-fourthof one percent to provide revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets) supported it. The candidate count was Reagan Lambert, 11 votes;  Cynthia Clinesmith, 8 votes and Dennis R. Hoover, one vote. When all Burnet and Llano county votes are in, the top two vote getters will take council seats.

Mayor Steve Jordan, unopposed, logged 10 votes.

Burnet County Judge James Oakley of Spicewood and Carlos Palasciano described their respective visions about the future of the Pedernales Electric Cooperative during a Thursday evening forum in Johnson City.
The two men are candidates for the District 5 place on the board currently held by Oakley, who also serves as the board president. PEC hosted a forum for the candidates at their cooperative headquarters.

After all the polling locations closed Super Tuesday evening, March 1, and the votes were tallied, it became apparent that Burnet County voters mirrored the rest of Texas in favoring Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz over Donald J. Trump, 4,026 votes to 3,145.

In locally-contested races, there were many clear-cut winners, as well as several expected runoff situations (if the top candidates did not gather at least 50.1% or more of the votes for that position):
