From a new name to a new way of doing business upon re-opening, the Verus Strength & Fitness Transformation Lab, has cultivated a plan for eventually coaxing clients back into the facility by keeping them active online.

Recommendations for owners and facility organizers under Gov. Greg Abbot's re-opening allowance starting May 18 for private and public fitness facilities include asking their clients to wear face coverings, utilize good hand hygiene and cough etiquette as well as clean and sanitize equipment and surfaces frequently.

Gov. Abbott eases more COVID-19 restrictions with phase II

Governor Greg Abbott May 18 announced the second phase of the State of Texas' ongoing plan to safely and strategically open the state while minimizing the spread of COVID-19.

Under Phase II, restaurants may increase their occupancy to 50 percent and additional services and activities that remained closed under Phase I may open with restricted occupancy levels and minimum standard health protocols laid out by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

Marble Falls stresses self policing among open businesses

As businesses adjust to phase 1 of re-opening the economy, Marble Falls city officials have provided guidance on the 25 percent occupancy limit, while encouraging merchants “to police themselves.”

Building official Mike Ingalsbe explained how he received half a dozen calls from businesses, prior to the May 1 allowance by the state for partial opening to determine how to go about following the rules. …

Rachel Lorance-Jones, owner/operator of Rae's Bar & Grill, and her General Manager Robyn Rivers will be asking patrons to utilize hand sanitizer when they open the restaurant on May 5. The business will set up sanitation stations inside while allowing 20 customers at a time to adhere to phase 1 of the Texas Governor's Plan to Re-open Texas.

Along with unveiling a newly-remodeled venue, restaurant owner Rachel Lorance has crafted a detailed plan for a May 5 re-opening of her business in response to customer support for the state's plan to ease COVID-19 restrictions.

“We didn't know we were going to open this soon. We can only do 25 percent of our occupancy,” she said. “We've been doing the floors, painting, retouching furniture, organizing, deep cleaning. 

“We've set a Tuesday deadline to get it all knocked out,” she added.
