Community Concert Series entertains while supporting those in need

Every aspect of the Friday, April 17, Community Concert Series, including sound equipment, musical talent, videos and venue space at the Hampton Inn in Marble Falls. The public was invited to float over to the venue and listen to the live music on their boats on Lake Marble Falls. Hosts also encouraged donations to the Highland Lakes Crisis Network which assists those in need during the COVID-19 crisis. Brewing company partners with crisis network to feed families

The Highland Lakes Crisis Center on April 7 mobilized volunteers from several churches to load free meals into the cars of volunteer delivery drivers at a site donated for use by Bear King Brewing Co., 207 Avenue G.

When Bear King Brewing Co. owners opted to closed their dining service due to COVID-19 restrictions, they found another way to continue offering their good spirits to customers while lending their amenities to a charitable organization.

Crisis network launches volunteers over COVID-19 concerns

Before noon on March 18, 10 requests came into the Highland Lakes Crisis Network office, 1007 Broadway Ave., from elderly residents asking for help obtaining groceries as the coronavirus scare continues to clear store shelves in the community.

“By coincidence one of the people who we deliver (Meals on Wheels) to called in today needing help grocery shopping,” said Ron Munos, a HLCN volunteer, who works with the Meals program as well. “She's afraid to get out. My wife got her list, and if it's not perishable, we'll pick it up this afternoon because we deliver to her anyway.
