Mustangs lose, 31-17, to Lockhart

Lockhart ground out 399 yards against Marble Falls Friday night at Mustang Stadium and came away with as 31-17 victory over the Mustangs.

Lockhart rushed the ball 47 times in its slot-t offense and came up with plenty of big plays to earn its third win of the season and second in District 26-5A action. Lockhart had only one pass attempt in the game and it was nullified by penalty.

Running back Greg Rivera carried the ball just 11 times for 201 yards and scored on touchdown runs of 73 and 45 yards. The Lions almost had three backs gain 100 yards.

Austin Garcia had 17 carries for 100 yards and got the touchdown to seal the game in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run.

The Lions scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to pull away.
