The Marble Falls football team sent the class of 2020 out with a 28-21 victory on Friday night over Cedar Creek in Bastrop.

The Mustangs (2-8, 2-5) picked off the Eagles quarterback three times and used some trickery to secure their second win of the season.

With under five minutes remaining in the game, Head Coach Brian Herman called a fake quick punt, and sophomore quarterback Jake Becker delivered a 38-yard touchdown strike to senior wide receiver Warren Cuplin.

The Mustang D forced a punt, and the Mustangs' running game sealed the victory.

On the 43-man roster, 21 players are graduating seniors, but several key role players, including Becker, will be potentially returning to the team next season with a year of Slot-T knowledge under their belt.

The Marble Falls High School Mustangs' offense had trouble finding any sort of success against a tough defense from Pflugerville Weiss in a 28-0 loss at home on Senior Night.

Mustangs fans learned one thing on Friday night: Weiss is a very good team.

The Mustangs (1-8, 1-5) posted only 120 yards of total offense – 91 yards rushing – in their final home game of the season. Through nine games, the Wolves (8-1, 6-0) have allowed only 89 points all season.

The Marble Falls Mustangs defense couldn't keep up with the Glenn Grizzlies' offense in a 35-22 loss in Leander on Friday.

The Mustangs (1-7, 1-4) scored on their opening possession of each half but failed to continue the success throughout the game.

The first three minutes of the game couldn't have gone better for the visiting team. The Grizzlies (5-3, 4-1) were forced to punt – a net-negative-yardage shank – that gave the Mustangs the ball near midfield.

Senior running back Hayden Wells capped off the short drive with a 17-yard touchdown run to give the Mustangs an early 7-0 lead.
