Finding hidden treasure in Johnson Park is the big reward of Geocaching Camp at Marble Falls Public Library. Instructor for the event, Wendi Lews of Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Pedernales Falls State Park looks on, right, as participants use a Global Positional Systems (GPS) to make their discoveries.

No need to pack a bag and write sad letters back home to attend summer camp. It is a close as Main Street in Marble Falls.

Registration is still open for Camp Share-a-Story, one in the series of Marble Falls Public Library Summer Camps to be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11.

“Our goal has been to make every summer camp fun while providing something kids age 8-12 can use,” said Misty Smith, youth librarian.

“I will be leading Camp Share-a-Story, but each child will bring a favorite book to share from,” she said. “It will be a little like camping out and sharing stories around the campfire and then, of course, there will be something to eat.”

“Last week, on July 21-22, we held the Geocaching Camp.”

Geocaching instruction was provided by Wendi Lews of the staff of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) Pedernales Falls State Park.
