Texas will be going blue for at least one day this year—Friday, April 8—Texas Go Blue Day.
The Texas Council of Child Welfare Boards and its member board in Burnet County are observing Texas Go Blue Day in recognition of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. Thousands of Texans will wear blue, the official color of prevention, to show their support for children.
Across the county, cities are joining in with proclamations and the Burnet County Commissioners Court will recognize local efforts in their meeting Tuesday, April 12.
“We will be there with representatives of Child Protective Services and Court Appointed Special Advocates for the Highland Lakes,” said Caroline Ragsdill, president of the Burnet County Child Welfare Board. “We hope everyone will join us in recognition of the month by wearing blue on Friday.”
