City of Marble Falls declines annexation of Los Escondidos

Marble Falls city officials have tabled a proposal to proceed with folding Los Escondidos subdivision into the city limits in light of state law prohibiting involuntary annexation and the smattering of development agreements among 38 lots.

“The council does agree it would be unfair for us to only access a portion of the lots. To have them come in and pay taxes and not have the others pay,” said City Manager Mike Hodge …

Landowners who live on Los Escondidos Street stood toe-to-toe Oct. 15 with Marble Falls City Council members to push back on impending plans to annex the neighborhood, which is primarily a strip of land bordering Lake Marble Falls.

A house fire in the Los Escondidos addition on the south shore of Lake Marble Falls Tuesday, June 14, called in support from six area fire units before it was defeated about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 15.

The walls were still standing at the home of Lawrence and Pat Burton at 1406 Burnet County Road 415.
