Meadowlakes residents and their families have the opportunity now to have tiles laid in Meadowlakes Veterans Memorial Park before Memorial Day, April 30.
Since the dedication Feb. 13 of the park developed by the Meadowlakes Property Owners Association, the POA began taking orders for 8X8X2-inch bricks or tiles bearing the name of members of any of the five branches of the U.S. armed forces, with that service branch and motto inscribed.
“The order should go in by April 7 to have the first batch installed by Memorial Day,” said POA President Jo Summers. “The cost is $29. 50 each and that is our cost. The installation work will be provided by our park development program.”
“At least 50 orders have come in,” said POA Assistant Debbie Holley, who receives the requests.
To participate contact her at the POA office, 177 Broadmoor street or call 830-693-2951 to reach her.
Meadowlakes has two primary parks for its residents, Lakeside Park and the Wayne Dollar Children's Park. But there a possibilities for others such as Veterans Memorial Park at the convergence of Meadowlakes Drive and Fairway Lane.
“We have three more parks we will be building, islands we will beautify, the the future,” Summers said.
