A Georgetown teen escaped serious injury Monday night, June 20, when his car landed in standing water in a ravine off Ranch to Market Road 1431 east of Marble Falls.
The Burnet County Sheriff's Department took the call on the accident at 9:52 p.m. and Marble Falls Area EMS (MFAEMS) and Volunteer Fire Department (MFAVFD) responded to the rollover along with Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper Joseph VanGundy.
“Upon arrival a vehicle was found to have gone into a ravine with standing water from 36-42-inches deep,” said MFAVFD Chief Michael Phillips. “An 18-year-old male from Georgetown was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He extricated himself from a window.”
Phillips said the driver refused ambulance transport for medical treatment.
