Parents prepare to pick up laptops

Marble Falls Middle School Principal, Roger Barr, Marble Falls High School Principal, Manny Lunoff, and the District Technology staff, are looking forward to meeting with the parents and guardians of students going in to 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grades to provide information about the distribution of new student laptops.

“The new laptop devices will bring the world of information to our students,” said MFMS Principal, Roger Barr. “We are excited that our students and teachers will have personal technology resources readily available for each student to support the best possible instruction and learning opportunities in our school and at home. Mr. Lunoff and I cordially invite parents and guardians of all incoming 6th – 10th grade students to take part in a two-step process to prepare for and pick up their laptop devices.”

Step 1 in the process is for parents to attend one of the four possible information meeting dates at the Marble Falls Performing Arts Center located at the Marble Falls High School Campus. Information Meetings will be held on the following dates and times:

• Tuesday, July 26 at 6 p.m.

• Thursday, July 28 at 6 p.m.

• Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 6 p.m.

• Thursday, Aug. 4 at 6 p.m.

At these meetings, parents will learn about:

• Laptop Devices to be provided to students, educational expectations, and regulations

• Necessary Permission forms

• Cost for Device Protection plan information and case availability

• Device Deployment dates and processes

Please note: To receive a laptop, all Marble Falls students for the 2016-2017 school year, parents must complete a permission form and complete online student registration. Online registration opens August 1. Parents: Please plan to attend ONE of the following meeting dates listed above so that your student can pick up a device with minimal delay.

Step 2 is for parents and students to pick up their approved devices. Parents will be given the dates, times and locations to pick up their device at the parent meetings after the completed permission forms have been completed and processed.
