Marble Falls Middle School meal site re-opens after negative test

Meal distribution at Marble Falls Middle School was suspended for a day and district officials rotated staff after a worker was tested for COVID-19. The test result was negative.

Out of an abundance of caution, Marble Falls Independent School District officials temporarily closed the Marble Falls Middle School meal distribution site on Wednesday, May 13 after an employee who works in that area was tested for COVID-19.

The district received a negative result on Thursday, May 14, and the site re-opened, MFISD Superintendent Chris Allen confirmed.

Prohibition of formal practices haven't changed much for Marble Falls High School long-distance runners. Coach Chris Schrader charges the athletes with self-guided workouts even when school is in session. MFHS runners Bryer Atkinson, Chris Talamantez, Bryce Atkinson, Jennifer Arreguin and Sayra Salazar met with Burnet High School runner Hudson Bennett at Granite Park in Granite Shoals on the morning of Wednesday, April 8 for a run around the Manzano Hike Bike and Run Trail.

Marble Falls ISD to continue community support

Marble Falls Independent School District officials detailed the continuation of closure procedures, including compensation of teachers, at the regular board meeting on Tuesday, March 25.

The district and all campuses will remain closed through at least next week in accordance with Gov. Greg Abbott's executive order to limit gatherings of individuals due to the spread of COVID-19.

During the suspension, however, all district staff members – including teachers, custodians and transportation workers – will be paid. …

Marble Falls ISD suspends school until April 3

In reaction to developments with COVID-19, Marble Falls Independent School District suspended normal school operations until at least April 3 to provide time to be more informed about a return to classes.

The date for suspension was updated on March 19 to comply with Gov. Greg Abbott's executive order.
