The Marble Falls Independent School District (MFISD) Board of Trustees have appointed Kevin Virdell to fill the vacancy in Place 7 created when Kelly Fox, PhD, resigned in July.

The appointment was made after a lengthy executive session during the board meeting on Monday night, Aug. 29.

Virdell and his family have deep educational roots in the Marble Falls and Central Texas community. He graduated from Marble Falls High School (MFHS) in 1997, his mother served as a MFHS Counselor, his father, Micky, was a Principal in Johnson City and coached in several area communities and his wife Jennifer currently works as the lead teacher for the MFISD 18+ Transition House.
“The MFISD Board and Administration welcome Mr. Virdell, and appreciate his willingness to serve with his wisdom, time, and many other talents,” said Superintendent, Chris Allen, PhD.
Following graduation from Marble Falls, Virdell graduated from Texas Tech University before returning to the area to serve as the Burnet Branch President of the First State Bank of Central Texas. He has two children, Kenley, a second grader at Marble Falls Elementary School, and Kamryn, who is four years old.
“I am grateful to the board of trustees for appointing me to Place 7 to serve our community as a board member,” said Virdell. “I am humbled to be part of the team and look forward to continue to build on the fine work our District is doing for our children.”
