Former Cecil Atkission Motors GM indicted for theft from the dealership

The former general manager at Cecil Atkission Motors in Burnet has been arrested and indicted for theft of money from his former employer that was earmarked to pay for a direct credit mailer.
Kirk Edmond Hagen of Bertram, 39, currently a licensed Realtor with RE/MAX Burnet, was arrested by Kerrville Police Department on a warrant from Burnet County on Friday, Jan. 20, and was released on $7,500 surety bond. He was charged with theft of property greated than $1,500 but less than $20,000, a state jail felony under Section 31.03(e)(4)(A) of the Texas Penal Code.
Hagen was indicted by a Burnet County grand jury on July 12, 2016. According to a copy of the indictment, which The Highlander obtained Friday, Jan. 27, Hagen was accused of taking the money on Jan. 12, 2015, while leading Cecil Atkission Motors to believe he would be using it to pay for a “Gold Digger” direct credit mailer and that it was done intentionally to deprive the company of the money.
He is scheduled to appear before Judge Allan Garrett in the 33rd Judicial District Court at 9 a.m. Feb. 22 in Burnet for an arraignment.
According to his LinkedIn file, Hagen worked as general manager at Cecil Atkission Motors in Burnet from August 2013 until February 2016. In March 2016, he started working for RE/MAX. In October 2014, Hagen had been honored by the Burnet Chamber of Commerce as its Citizen of the Month while he worked at Cecil Atkission Motors.
He is also a former president of the Medina County Livestock Show Board and Devine Livestock Booster Club. He is a graduate of Medina Valley High School.
