Emergency lights filled downtown Marble Falls Saturday night when back-to-back calls were answered on Main Street.
Attempts to revive James Fred Graham Jr. were unsuccessful at Uptown Theatre despite immediate response on the scene, while the victim of a fall down stairs adjoining the R Bar and Grill is still hospitalized in Austin.
The director of Marble Falls Area Emergency Medical Services, Johnny Campbell, was actually in the audience at a 1980s rock revival program at the Uptown Marble Theather, when Graham, 73, suffered an attack from possible heart-related problems.
That happened about 10:30 p.m., during the third musical set change.
Campbell said he and two other individuals started CPR immediately, but even when other technicians arrived, it was to no avail.
The next call came from just around the corner at R Bar & Grill and that victim was taken in critical condition to the trauma unit at South Austin Medical Center. His name and current condition were unavailable.
There were three other ambulance calls and a police call that same night, according to Campbell.
“It was a very busy night,” he said.
Funeral arrangements for Graham, 73, a longtime dentist in the community are under the direction of Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at First Baptist Church, 901 La Ventana Drive, Marble Falls.
