Damon Adams named new MFHS principal

Marble Falls ISD trustees approved Hays CISD administrator Damon Adams as the new principal for Marble Falls High School during their regular board meeting Monday, April 17.

Adams will work with interim principal Emmett Aubry between now and the end of the current school year to transition to his full time duties as the new MFHS instructional leader in July.

Adams was recommended to the board by MFISD superintendent Dr. Chris Allen following an extensive selection process, which included community and staff input. A principal selection committee was established to help with the screening of applicants for the MFHS principal position, prior to the selection of the final candidate for board recommendation.

Adams had served since 2007 as an assistant principal at Jack C. Hays High School in Buda. Hays CISD serves two high schools, six middle schools and 13 elementary schools. A graduate of Texas A&M University, Kingsville, and The University of Texas at San Antonio, Adams is an Innovative Educator Award recipient and was recognized with the Inspired2Educate Award from PeopleAdmin in 2016.

In addition to his work as a campus administrator, Adams serves as an adjunct lecturer for the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Texas State University.

Adams will join the Marble Falls community with Carla, his wife of 22 years. The Adams have three children. Austin is finishing his second year at Baylor University, McKenna graduates in May and will be attending Valor Christian College in the fall, and Averick will be entering seventh grade next fall.
