Amber Dyess of Kingsland became Miss Aqua Boom 2017 on July 1, crowned by her predecessor Hunter Holmes of Burnet at the scholarship pageant at Kingsland Community Center.
Reigning with her at the Aqua Boom Independence Day Celebration Parade, July 4, were Princess Kailee Hair of Burnet and Dutchess Reece Dodgen of Marble Falls. Chantelle Barret and Rebekah Nelson of Kingsland also were contestants in the scholarship pageant.
Except for Tiny Miss Aqua Boom Farrah Thornbloom of Highland Haven, winners in the other categories of the pageant were from Kingsland: Teen Miss Aqua Boom Jaylynn Clark, Young Miss Aqua Boom Ciara Hays, Little Miss Aqua Boom Jacey Hill and Teeny Miss Aqua Boom, Juliana Hill.
