First Friday Art Walk a Christmas treat

First Friday Art Walk on Marble Falls Main Street Friday, Dec. 1, will have a holiday flair. Beautiful to look at and available to take home, the international and imaginative Santas and other Christmas characters on exhibit at Marta Stafford Fine Art, 200 Main Street, are creations of doll maker Marilynn Huston.

Nothing brings out the artist in folks like Christmas and visitors to First Friday Art Walk on Marble Falls Main Street Friday, Dec. 1, are bound to find inspiration for their own holiday expression.
The event goes on from 5-8 p.m. as visitors stroll through stores open late and offering refreshments and entertainment.
There will be art, of course. The city's three galleries—Marta Stafford Fire Art at 200 Main Street, Galleries at Pecan Creek at 309 Main Street and the Highland Art Guild Gallery at 310 Main Street—are devoted to it. But many shops up and down the boulevard offer paintings and prints, jewelry and fashions and furniture and accessories, all created by artisans.
In addition, almost every business is putting on its finest holiday dressing. The Stafford gallery is featuring a Santa Claus Collection by Marilynn Huston. The doll maker, who has been featured on the “Carol DuvallShow,” is a member of the Original Doll Artist Council of America, the Texas Art Doll Sculptors and the Academy of American Doll Artists.
Weather permitting, Stafford says Sherry Gringras will be returning to the gallery for another African Drumming performance by the performance group Drumz Austin, as well.
Along Main Street, you can choose treats prepared with aesthetic flair to serve family and friends. Or, find something creative to wear to the parties.
Art guild members have created Christmas crafts and most shops have ornaments and decorations that reflect individuality. Trendz at 203 Main Street, for example, has ornaments created by the potters and glass works they feature in the store.
At Marble Falls Flower & Gift Shop, 214 Main Street, artistic holiday creations include fresh and ornamental arrangements and you can use your own imagination to order custom home or party decorations.
