For the 10th year, there's no place like Horseshoe Bay and Ranch to Market Road 2147 for the Holidaze.
The Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance will hold their annual Holidaze event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, in front of the businesses at 7407 Farm to Market Road 2147, Horseshoe Bay.
Business members set up tables filled with treats, refreshments and samples and many also provide door prizes and giveaways. The free event is a way for the Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance to give back to the residents who support the city's businesses. It was held for the first time in 2008.
More than 30 businesses are expected to participate this eyar, making it the largest Holidaze event ever in Horseshoe Bay, said Francie Dix of the Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance, and more than 200 people are expected to attend.
“One of our goals is to give our residents an easy way to experience the wide variety of services provided in and near Horseshoe Bay,” Dix said. “Our 'main street’ is indeed Highway 2147 — and we typically condense our celebration location to these two or three building front areas, taking over their parking lots for several hours. It will be easy to find us: we bring in large light banks which are easily visible from the road.
“Everyone in our area is invited – you do not have to live in Horseshoe Bay to attend!”
Food will be provided by several businesses, including Hole in One, On the Rocks and Subway, while entertainment is being planned by Wildflower Dance Group. Paul Gosselin Jr. of Night Scenes Landscape Lighting Professionals will provide DJ services.
“We try to make Holidaze similar from year to year in that we invite as many of our businesses available to have a table set up with food and drink treats for all and information about their businesses.  We also have at least one or two elements of entertainment each year,” Dix said. “Each year the Holidaze committee meets early to set a theme and look at adding a new twist or element to keep the event fresh and interesting.  This year, we are focusing on a birthday party and anniversary theme and will encourage our member table top participants to do the same.”
