MFISD appealed UIL districting today

Marble Falls High School was one of 10 schools that were scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 20 at the Austin Marriot North in Round Rock to request a relcsssification and realignment of its assigned district for the next two years.
In the University Interscholastic League's (UIL) new districts, announced Feb. 1, MFHS moved from District 26-5A in all sports to District 13-5A in football (Division 2) and Distirct 17-5A in volleyball and basketball.
The UIL's District Assignment Appeals Committee will hear the appeals and will rule on them the same day.
For volleyball and and basketball, Marble Falls are requesting 18-5A, which would put them in with Bastrop, Bastrop Cedar Creek, Elgin, Georgetown, Georgetown East View, Huto and Manor.
“We are a one-school town and we would like to be in a district with 'like' schools,” said Marble Falls Independent School District athletic director Rick Hoover. “Once the realignments came out, we then made the decision to appeal.”
In basketball and volleyball, Marble Falls' new district opponents in 17-5A include Cedar Park, Leander Rouse, Leander Glenn, Pflugerville, Pflugerville Connally and Pflugerville Weiss.
Other schools requesting appeals on districting include Austin Ann Richards (to go from 25-6A to 25-5A in volleyball), Fort Worth Trimble Tech and Young Men's Leadership (both to go from 4-6A to 4-5A Division 2 in football), Poteet (30-4A to 29-4A in volleyball and basketball) and San Angelo Central (3-6A to 2-6A for all sports).
In football, the Mustangs' new opponents in 13-5A will be Elgin, Leander Glenn, Bastrop and Bastrop Cedar Creek, Brenham, Georgetown East View and the new high school, Pflugerville Weiss.
