An auto-pedestrian collision prompted authorities to remind witnesses to report incidents and possible crimes at the scene to help those involved obtain medical care in a timely manner and assist in unraveling clues in subsequent investigations.

The latest incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. March 30 at the intersection of U.S. 281 and Second Street in Marble Falls.

Police received a call from a man about 6:15 p.m. in connection with a juvenile female, who was taken to the emergency room by private vehicle suffering from a hip injury, according to the police report.

Her father took her to the ER and notified police,” Marble Falls Police Capt. Trisha Ratliff said.

The 16-year-old girl told authorities she attempted to cross Second Street at the U.S. 281 intersection and was struck by a vehicle, who failed to stop, the report stated.

The suspect vehicle was turning right on red,” Ratliff said. “She was crossing.”

Police then reached out to by-standers at the scene for more information. Witnesses told police the collision involved a “silver vehicle,” Ratliff said.

Authorities believe “being cognizant that people cross the roadway on 281” can enhance safety.

Ultimately, authorities could benefit from immediate reporting of incidents from bystanders.

Please contact us as soon as possible, so we can investigate, and obtain medical treatment (at the scene),” Ratliff said.
