Marble Falls school board members approved a new head football coach and boys athletic coordinator, during the April 15 regular school board meeting.

Officials welcomed Brian Herman to start his position this school year.

His past experience includes a position as head football coach and athletic coordinator for Lockhart Independent School District.

The University of Texas graduate was also a head coach at Eustace High School and assistant coach at Liberty Hill Independent School District.

Coach Herman has been a head coach of two different programs with each of those programs finding levels of achievement that they had not seen for several years,” MFISD Superintendent Chris Allen said in a statement. “He has a history of working with educators, parents and the community to build a comprehensive program for sustained success, and we are excited for him to take the helm of our football program.”

Herman replaces Mike Birdwell who resigned the position in March to pursue other career opportunities.
