Marble Falls Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Tyler Porter as head baseball coach for Marble Falls High School at a special board meeting on Monday, June 3.

Porter said the community atmosphere of Marble Falls was significant motivation in his decision to apply for the job.

My family and I are extremely excited about the opportunity to become a part of this community,” he said in a press release. “We’ve been looking for a quality town in Texas to raise our kids, and Marble Falls has been at the top of the list for a long time.”

Mustangs baseball was also a factor for Porter.

I’m equally excited about the opportunity to lead and grow what has the potential to be a great baseball program,” he said. “All the pieces appear to be in place, and I’m ready to be part of the group that can get this program to the next level for years to come. I’m ready to get to work helping to develop kids in this town from the youth leagues on up to the high school.”

MFISD athletic director Rick Hoover spoke highly of Porter's coaching experience.

We are very excited to welcome Coach Porter to Marble Falls,” Hoover said. “He brings a wealth of baseball experience with a proven track record of winning teams.”

Porter replaces former head coach Russell Reichenbach who submitted his resignation at the conclusion of the Mustangs season . . . .
