For Mackenzie White, accepting a job at the Marble Falls Conventions and Visitors Bureau represented a chance to blend new ideas with tradition to highlight the community and coax more visitors to the area.
“Marble Falls is the perfect balance between old tradition with new ideas and innovation,” she said. “I love the idea of working in public service.
“That was something I had a background in,” she added. “I liked the idea of getting to serve the community that served me so well growing up.”
She started her job as the Marble Falls CVB marketing and tourism director June 18.
White graduated from Marble Falls High School in 2012. She then graduated from Texas Tech University in 2016 with a bachelor's degree and in 2018 with a master's degree in agricultural and applied economics.
In 2015, she was recognized as Ambassador of the Year for Marble Falls because of her service as the official Tech mascot, The Masked Rider for a year while in school.
She worked in real estate before taking the CVB position.
“I wanted to be in a field that allowed me to be creative and to have new ideas, to push forward but to also maintain tradition and respect for the path before me,” she said. . . .
