Texas Tech, Austin Coding Academy join forces

A new joint venture which will begin next month at Texas Tech University at Highland Lakes in Marble Falls could help increase the number of graduates earning higher pay in a technical job field.

Texas Tech University and Austin Coding Academy announced Wednesday, Sept. 18, a new partnership to launch the Texas Tech Coding Academy, a part-time web development program that prepares students for careers as web developers and software engineers.

The Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance (HSBBA) held its Aug. 27 Community Coffee at Arrowhead Bank in Horseshoe Bay, attracting another large gathering of business leaders and residents.

Bittersweet Cakes and Catering provided the morning treats, which included an assortment of mini muffins and a delicious egg, sausage and cheese casserole that really tempted guests to have second helpings.

For Mackenzie White, accepting a job at the Marble Falls Conventions and Visitors Bureau represented a chance to blend new ideas with tradition to highlight the community and coax more visitors to the area.
