Horseshoe Bay is looking for a new fire chief after Joe Morris announced his retirement from the position Friday, Aug. 9. His last day with the city will be Friday, Aug. 23.
“After 34 years in public safety, I just decided it was time to do something else,” Morris said Monday. “My wife Vicki is an amazing artist and so I am going in a different direction and opening an art gallery near Greenville, South Carolina. We have bought a great place in Taylors (outside Greenville) and we are ready to roll.”
Morris was appointed fire chief in July 2015, when he replaced Jim Fiero, who served as chief from 2006 to April 2015. He has held the position for four years . . .
