MFISD facility upgrades greet teachers and pupils

Crews worked on the finishing touches of the new bus loop at Highland Lakes Elementary School on Monday, Aug. 19. MFISD Superintendent Chris Allen said the bus loop will be ready for the first day of school. Similar loops at Marble Falls Middle and High Schools will be ready for use before Thanksgiving break.

While the students were out for summer vacation, Marble Falls Independent School District was putting some of the money from last year's $55 million bond to work.

MFISD Superintendent Chris Allen said although there is plenty of work left to be done across the district, the administration is happy with the progress made prior to the first day of school on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

“We have a lot going on,” he said. “We're really proud of how much we've been able to accomplish so quickly with regard to safety and security and student comfort.”

For safety, district workers installed prop door alarms on over 300 doors at every campus and added keyless entry capability to approximately 60 doors. . . .
