Horseshoe Bay delays controversial Cat's Eye zoning decision

Petitioners have requested the purple strip on the zoning map, which allows for duplexes, be rezoned to match the surrounding land, in yellow, which is zoned for single-family residential.

The great Roman historian Tacitus once wrote: “Truth is confirmed by inspection and delay; falsehood by haste and uncertainty.”

At their Sept. 17 regular meeting, Horseshoe Bay City Council members decided to opt for delay to confirm truth when it came to determining whether to rezone 45 lots on the west side of Cat's Eye in Horseshoe Bay West.

Council members voted 4-1 Tuesday to continue the matter for six months until April 2020 in hopes those and for the zoning change could sit down at the bargaining table and hash out their own agreement that would preclude the need for further council action. . . .
