Governor's decree to supersede Burnet County COVID-19 order

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a statewide executive order on March 31 directing all Texans to minimize non-essential gatherings and in-person contact with people who are not in the same household and keeping schools closed to in-person classroon attendance through May 4.

Executive Order No. GA-14 went into effect at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, April 2, and will end on April 30 unless further extended by Abbott.

While Llano County Judge Ron Cunningham amended and extended his local order on Wednesday, April 1, to coincide with the governor's, Burnet County Judge James Oakley announced he was rescinding his own local order since Abbott's action superseded anything Burnet County had in place.
