Marble Falls Middle School meal site re-opens after negative test

Meal distribution at Marble Falls Middle School was suspended for a day and district officials rotated staff after a worker was tested for COVID-19. The test result was negative.

Out of an abundance of caution, Marble Falls Independent School District officials temporarily closed the Marble Falls Middle School meal distribution site on Wednesday, May 13 after an employee who works in that area was tested for COVID-19.
The district received a negative result on Thursday, May 14, and the site re-opened, MFISD Superintendent Chris Allen confirmed.
The district takes stringent measures to ensure sanitary distribution as they continue the program through the closure of schools.
All food preparation staff members consistently wear masks, gloves and take other precautions to maintain a safe and healthy service environment.
All employees in contact with the tested employee self-quarantined pending the test results. “Our plan to is sanitize/deep clean the middle school kitchen and service area, as has been our daily practice, and replace the current food service crew with a group of employees that has not been in contact with the employee who is being tested,” a district statement read.
