County mid-term sales tax revenue up

Burnet County has seen a 6.2 percent increase in sales tax allocation between July 2016 and July 2015.
In total, the county received $940,386.27 this month, a $54,761.09 increase compared to the $885,625.18 allocated in July 2015, according to the Texas Comptroller's Office. To date, the county has received $6,163,656.40 in allocations from the Texas Comptroller based on sales tax revenue in the county.
The community with the largest sales tax allocation increase was Granite Shoals, with $21,565.84 allocated – a 67 percent increase from the $12,992.34 allocated last year.
Marble Falls was next highest with an increase from $607,278.82 to $645,831.61, a 6.3 percent increase from July of last year. Cottonwood Shores saw a 5.4 percent, from $13,596.74 to $14,332.31. Horseshoe Bay saw a 4.3 percent increase. The city received $80,079.41 this year, while having received $76,751.90 last year.
Burnet saw an increase of 2.4 percent; the city received $161,005.31 this year as opposed to $157,233.38 last year in July.
Bertram was the only city that saw a decrease in sales tax allocations, with $17,571.79 this year, compared to $17,772.00 last year, a decrease of 1.1 percent.
