Holidays mean Home Tour in Llano County

All the charm of a stone home place built in 1947 has been accentuated to become a place of business for Beckham Homes, one stop on the Holiday Home Tour of the Llano Woman's Culture Club Dec. 3.
Holiday Home Tour set for Dec. 2
The Holiday Home Tour of the Llano Woman's Culture Club will be bringing visitors to enjoy Llano County homestyle hospitality on Saturday, Dec. 3.
From noon-5 p.m., homes and historical buildings in holiday festive décor will be open for the club's annual fundraiser.
One building is a home-turned-office of local builder Bubba Beckham. He and his wife Kathy had always admired the distinctive old rock home and moved quickly to own it when it came up for sale.
Built in 1947, the Beckham Homes new home offered original details such as wood floors, woodwork and charming interior doors that the Beckham's restored. They added architectural details and antiques to give the house even more character.
The front sidewalk and porch were resurfaced by Element 7 Concrete of Granite Shoals with an unusual and beautiful technique called “epoxy stone overlay.” The landscape was completely redesigned and installed by Emerald Irrigation and Landscape out of Round Mountain. Metal art adds to a new and unique look for an old home.
Other stops on the tour will include the Paula and Don Graham Home, newly built in the heart of Llano; the Lisa and Bryan Miiller mid-century modern home and courtyard, completely updated; the new home of Packsaddle Elementary School teacher Ashleigh Llano High School athletic trainer Greg Monnig on a hill overlooking Llano; a 1905 drive-in gas station, converted into a bachelor pad by local wood-working artist Ken Cline; two newly-opened bed and breakfast conversions—Flossie’s and Miss Nora’s Cottage; and the circa 1880 building that is home to Gridiron Art Gallery in downtown Llano.
Whether to satisfy curiosity, accumulate holiday decorating ideas, enjoy a Saturday drive through the Hill Country or to support the charity and scholarship programs of the Llano Woman's Culture Club, the annual event draws visitors to the line up of homes and restored structures that changes each year in and around the Llano County seat.
Tickets for the Holiday Home Tour are $14 each or two for $25, available from club members or at the Llano Visitor’s Center, 100 Train Station Drive. They also will be available the organization's clubhouse at 210 West Sandstone Street on the day of the tour. Maps and brochures will be available.
