Practice on the new turf at Mustang Stadium never looked so good on Friday - a week prior to the team's first scrimmage on Aug. 16 against Lampasas.

He talked about playing as a team and how one superstar on an opposing team will never beat 11 Mustangs.
Blocking schemes are important in the Slot-T offense and offensive lineman at all levels were putting in hundreds of reps blocking for the ballcarriers during practice on the field.
Mustangs Wide Receivers Coach Kiante Holmes handed out some advice to players during that day's practice. The assistant coach was often the most animated assistant coach with both celebrations and corrections.
In order to keep opposing defenses honest, even a run-heavy offense like the Slot-T requires the ability to stretch the field.
One of the drills involved Mustangs receivers simulated NFL-rules catches by getting both feet in bounds.
The scrimmage starts at 6:30 p.m. in Lampasas.
