Early voting posts meager first week in Burnet County

Elections officials have reported a “meager” first week of early voting in Burnet County for the primary elections featuring the presidential race and contested congressional races as well as county and judicial positions.

“It's been somewhat disappointing,” Burnet County Elections Administrator Doug Ferguson said. “When you considered the last presidential (primary) election in 2016, we're voting about 100 people fewer per day than then.”

Candidates begin to file for municipal, ISD positions

Two individuals have filed for election so far to the Marble Falls City Council, according to City Secretary Christina McDonald.

The filing period for the Saturday, May 4, city and school board elections began Wednesday, Jan. 16, and continues through Feb. 15.
