When Frank Hosea noticed the fuel sign at the Walmart gas station, he did not hesitate to stop.

“I usually come here for gas because it's always the cheapest. Now it's under $2,” he said. “It's really good. It doesn't cost me $50 to fill it up.”

The Horseshoe Bay resident was among motorists in line Nov. 27 to buy gasoline at the Murphy USA fueling station.

In the past week, Market observers have noticed the same scenarios around the country as fuel prices have dropped a weekly average of a few pennies per gallon to as much as 11 cents less per gallon, depending on the state.

As of Nov. 28, crude oil averaged about $59 per barrel compared to about $80 per barrel three months ago.

According to AAA Texas, the average price per gallon is $2.19 per gallon.

Marble Falls residents will welcome the next step towards a brand-new, bigger and better H-E-B store today, April 7, with a groundbreaking ceremony at 10 a.m.

The ceremony will take place at the current store at 1503 Ranch to Market Road 1431 West. City officials and H-E-B leadership will be on hand to break ground and to give information about the new store design, its services and offerings and planned departments.

The new 111,000-square-foot store, which will be located next door and occupy the site of the former Bealls store as well, will offer new products, expanded departments, added services and low prices, H-E-B officials said, as the new store's footprint will be 35,000 square feet larger than the existing store.

The old store will continue operations while the new store is being built, H-E-B Marble Falls Unit Director David Crail said.

Without fanfare, barricades were moved aside at 8 a.m. this morning Wednesday, June 28, on the new realignment of Avenue N with Bluebonnet Drive at Ranch to Market Road 1431 in Marble Falls.

City of Marble Falls employees washed the entire roadway Monday afternoon and spent the last hour today clearing chinaberry trees for an unobscured sightline to RM 1431 from the new Avenue N stop sign.

"The City is excited about the new road project and redevelopment of the area and would like to thank everyone for their patience during the construction," said Mayor John Packer.

A new Marble Falls H-E-B store will have more space and more offerings and will be located just west of the existing store.

It's official — a new, larger H-E-B store is coming to Marble Falls and will offer even more value for shoppers in the area.

The current Marble Falls store location at 1503 Ranch to Market Road 1431 West will also be the site of a new H-E-B store on the same property. The existing store will continue operations while the new store is being built, said H-E-B Marble Falls Unit Director David Crail.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to give our customers what they need – a larger variety of products and more shopping space,” Crail said.
