Splash pad and pools welcome families to dip into summer

Cottonwood Shores Splash Pad (pictured here), 4111 Cottonwood Dr., is scheduled to open Saturday, June 6, at noon until 8 p.m. The venue will be open everyday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. until Labor Day, Sept. 7, city officials said. In Marble Falls, the municipal pool opened on June 1. Going forward the hours at the Marble Falls venue will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; Friday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. The facility will be closed to the general public on Mondays and Saturdays. …

Marble Falls welcomes spring breakers with modified schedule

UPDATE: The city of Marble Falls has cancelled the spring break program in an effort to promote "social distancing" to minimize the threat of the potential spread of COVID-19, according to a press release issued at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13.

Marble Falls extends hike and bike trail

A new sidewalk began to take shape July 25 in the south end of Johnson Park in Marble Falls. The work is adjacent to a new restroom facility at the venue. When completed, the sidewalk will farther extend the hiking and biking trail system which connects to Westside Park.

City closes park to clear way for upgrades at Lakeside Park, Buena Vista Drive in Marble Falls

Marble Falls city crews begin site preparation for water line work set to begin along Buena Vista Drive adjacent to Lakeside Park. Lakeside Park is closed but the city will help provide access in working with construction crews to make accommodations for those renting Lakeside Pavilion on the south end of the street.

Marble Falls officials closed Lakeside Park Dec. 26 as work got underway on a multi-million dollar parks and infrastructure upgrade plan which includes road re-surfacing, parking expansion, lighting and new water and wastewater line installation.

“The park is closed to the public for the duration due to construction and safety,” Assistant City Manager Caleb Kraenzel said. “The city crews are doing the water and sewer on Buena Vista, while the contractors are focused on the waterfront work.”
