Sales tax allocations up in GShoals and Cottonwood Shores

Cottonwood Shores saw an increase of 24.6 percent in March 2020, up from $11,792.04 to $14,693.99. For the year, sales tax revenues are up 13.36 percent from $41,112.84 in 2019 to $46,606.41 through the same point this year.

Sales tax allocations for March for Marble Falls were down slightly, but Granite Shoals and Cottonwood Shores each saw large percentage increases, it was announced last week.

Sales tax allocations for February for Marble Falls shattered a previous all-time record, topping $900,000 for the first-time ever as the county's largest city continues to experience outstanding economic growth.

Burnet County submits Rainy Day Fund wish list

Burnet County commissioners on Wednesday, March 20, discussed a wish list of infrastructure projects the county will submit to a state representative whose bill would create a new grant program using the state's “Rainy Day Fund.”
