Out of an abundance of caution, Marble Falls Independent School District officials temporarily closed the Marble Falls Middle School meal distribution site on Wednesday, May 13 after an employee who works in that area was tested for COVID-19.

The district received a negative result on Thursday, May 14, and the site re-opened, MFISD Superintendent Chris Allen confirmed.

Social and emotional education and academic growth rose to the top of the list of focuses for all principals across Marble Falls Independent School District for the 2019-2020 school year.

The principals presented their individual campus improvement plans to the board of trustees during the regular meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The Marble Falls Independent School District school board last week weighed the benefits and drawbacks of relocating the newly-founded STEAM Academy to Marble Falls Middle School for the 2019-2020 school year.

Marble Falls Middle School held induction ceremonies for the Junior Honor Society on Tuesday, May 17.

They included 8th graders being recognized for three years in the JHS: Ben Anderson, Ethan Crouse, Lillian Czimskey, Cole Gelinas, Bailey Kelleyk, Evan Kroese, Madison Lewis, Aislin Magee, Emily Moomaw, Colby Person, Evan Pool, Kenadee Stewart and Kendall Ulbricht.

Second year JHS 8th graders were: McKinley Birdwell, Natalie Cox, Ethan Cremona, Warren Cuplin, Briana Eaton, Adriana Garza, Ellie Herrington, Jake Levert, Enrique Loredo, Jesus Mata, Samuel May, Shelby Miller, Samantha Nesrsta, Monserrath Otero Vazquez, Hannah Sizenbach, Jessie Smythe, Jesse Stephenson, Rylie Ulbricht and Joshua Whitecotton.

“It’s okay to ooh and aah,” said the astronomy educator to the group of 8th-grade Marble Falls Middle School students who couldn’t help but react upon seeing the entire universe above and around them. Students reclined in the Discovery Dome, watching as day turned to a brilliant night sky brimming with stars and planets.

Over the course of two days, MFMS students got a 10-minute tour of the universe followed by “2 Small Pieces of Glass,” a program about the invention and evolution of the telescope, all while nestled in the black bubble of the inflatable planetarium in the library.

Marble Falls Middle School (MFMS) 7th and 8th grade choirs came from a University Interscholastic League (UIL) competition at the Georgetown High School Performing Arts Center on Monday, March 7, clutching plenty of trophies.

“All four choirs were honored, so me and Mrs. Angela Williamson (MFMS assistant director of choirs) are really proud,” said Megan Goodman, MFMS director of choirs. “It’s the sixth year in a row MFMS choirs have taken home Sweepstakes and Superior honors at UIL contest.”

The Varsity Women's Choir, Varsity Men's Choir and the Varsity Mixed choir (Cantare) all received straight 1’s in Stage and Sight Reading, earning them the coveted Sweepstakes trophy.

“It’s the best you can get,” Goodman said.
